Citizens Health is recruiting a patient resource representative to work full-time at Family Center for Health Care.

Family Center for Health Care - an outpatient rural health clinic

Location: 100 E College Ave, Colby, Kansas


Position Information: The primary function of the Patient Resource Representative is to process Referrals and manage the obstetric billing process.


Responsible to the Patient Resource Manager


Days: Monday through Friday


Hours:  8am to 5 pm


Pay Range:  Dependent upon  experience.


What you’ll do:

  • Schedule referrals according to procedure.
  • Monitor referrals and mark accordingly.
  • Manage the Obstetric billing process. Verify insurance, prepare an estimation of patient financial obligation and create an OB specific payment arrangement.
  • Monitor OB payments via excel tracking tool. Implement exceptions and supply final approvals with Patient Resource Manager.
  • Respond to Nursing home messages and process according to procedure. Complete Prior Auth/Pre-Certs in Clinical Care Coordinator’s absence.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.


What you bring to the table

  • High school Graduate or GED 
  • Proficient in the use of computers and the Microsoft office software
  • Experience in medical practice preferred
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for medical office experience
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with all personnel and the public
  • Ability to communicate clearly

Typical Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office environment. Primarily requires desk work utilizing a desktop computer.  Frequent contact with patients and insurance agencies.  Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.  This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.


Typical Physical Demands:

Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time.  Some bending and stooping required.  Requires manual dexterity to operate keyboard, calculator, copy machine and other office equipment.  Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, policies, and computer terminals.  Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use.  Occasional stressful work may require dealing with upset people.
