Location: 100 E College Ave, Colby, Kansas


Position Information:  Provides computer support for all clinical areas on computer software for all employees/physicians utilizing CPSI at Citizens Medical Center, Prairie Senior Living Complex, and Family Center for Health Care and other clinics utilizing CMCI resources.


Responsible to the Chief Clinical Officer


Days: Monday through Friday


Hours:  8am to 5 pm


Pay Range:  Dependent upon licensure and experience.


What you’ll do:

  • Answer user inquiries regarding EMR software to resolve problems
  • Oversee the daily performance of EMR software
  • Investigate problems and provide technical assistance and support
  • Set up appropriate software and access levels within the EMR for associates
  • Provide training to end users regarding the proper use of software
  • Collaborate with others to evaluate, design, troubleshoot, resolve, or implement regarding software technology issues or changes
  • Analyze information logically to understand and address issues or problems related to end users and software interactions
  • Attend meetings and in-services.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.


What you bring to the table: (Minimum Requirements)

  • High school Graduate or GED.  Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in nursing or other related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a clinical setting
  • Knowledge of computer applications; Evident, Aprima, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer and personal service to include meeting needs, assess and resolve issues, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate satisfaction
  • Ability to maintain good working relationship with all personnel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.

Typical Working Conditions: 

Requires sitting approximately 70% of the time at a desk while answering the telephone, placing phone calls and working on various computer devices.  Requires frequent walking from department to department.  Requires repetitive motion of the hand and wrist approximately 40% of the time when working on PC’s, printers, etc.  Requires standing approximately 10% of the time.  Normal hearing and vision with/without assistance.  This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.


Typical Physical Demands:

Requires standing, walking, bending, crouching/stooping, and carrying approximately 80% of the time when caring for patients.  Requires sitting at desk approximately 20% of time with repetitive motion of the hand and wrist to type in computerized charting system and answer phone. Requires pushing/pulling and reaching approximately 50% of time that is spent to move beds, carts, equipment, and turning patients.  Requires lifting and lowering patients/objects with 20-50 pounds of force occasionally.  Moving patients/objects over 50 pounds requires assistance of mechanical lifting device or another person.  Normal vision, with or without correction, which is adequate for reading, use of computer.  Distinction of color necessary for evaluation of limited amount of specimen analysis.  Hearing adequate for all types of interpersonal communication.  Must be able to work closely with other hospital personnel, physicians, patient, and family.  Works under moderate stress.
